Research in Regional Geography
Within the geography program, faculty research and expertise is largely focused on the United States, the American Southwest, the Great Plains, Texas and the Llano Estacado.
From an international perspective, faculty research and expertise is focused on Latin America, South America, Europe and China.
The department also organizes summer field trips to Europe each year providing students with first-hand experience in regional geography. Most recently, students have had the opportunity to visit a number of countries in Eastern Europe including Austria, Hungary, Romania, Poland and Slovenia.
